You just might take a fall if you lean/sway too much. Just practice on an even and flat surface that is not crowded. Don't practice sharp turns yet, start out with wide and gentle turns to help you get a feel for how to shift your weight on your feet. When you're feeling good, then you can attempt lifting the front and making sharper turns. Learn the skateboardes language, and learn the various kinds of boards. You'll find a wide variety of skateboards on the market. You'll want to find out why there are so many different designs. You'll find it'll help to be able to talk about skating in skater's terms.
