WALES Addicts’ burglary haul i
THREE drug addicts, two of them women, were jailed yesterday for burgling a woman in the middle of the night and making off with a Bible.
The three also took handbags containing personal belongings, cash and credit cards from the Old Colwyn home of their 68-year-old victim.
Jason Capper, 32, of Grove Park, Colwyn Bay, was jailed for two years yesterday at Caernarfon Crown Court.
The court was told that he had committed two previous house burglaries.
Elizabeth Watson, 29, also of Grove Park, and 25-year-old Rosalind Weedall, of Coed Coch Road, Old Colwyn, were each sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment.
Watson’s car was confiscated by the court.
Prosecutor Gareth Parry said Watson alone had burgled a house in Coed Coch Road on May 4 and 59fifty stole pounds 200. Then, four days later, all three burgled the 68-year-old woman who was at home with members of her family in Albert Road, Old Colwyn.
A Peugeot car was later stopped by police and the three were arrested.
Weedall had also committed fraud and theft.
The three admitted the charges put to them.
Defence barrister Duncan Bould said Capper was “ashamed and sorry” for his burglary which happened after he took drugs. While remanded in custody, drug tests had been negative.

Kim Halsall, for Watson, said she had been addicted to drugs since the age of 14 but had been drugs-free in Styal prison. Simon Rogers, representing Weedall, said her heroin use had spiralled. But while remanded in custody she hadn’t used the drug.
Recorder Paul Thomas QC told them: “You all have substantial previous convictions for dishonesty.”
